Every President Tells Their Lies Poem by Ramona Thompson

Every President Tells Their Lies

Parody of Poison's classic hit Every Rose Has Its Thorn

The White House is silent and still in the deadly night
Althrough they'll tell you that there's a ton of work going on
We all know that's miles from the real truth
How do I know?
How can I be sure?
Is it something they say?
Is it something they do?
The promises they make never seem to be kept
Tho' they'll tell you
Tho' they'll swear on their mother's graves
It's still true no matter what they say
Every president tells their lies

Just like every defense attorney with a guilty client
Just like every young celebrity who thinks they can do no wrong
Every president tells their lies
Yea they do

I watch their speeches
Playin' on my tv
Hear them dodge the real questions
Like their fellow Americans concerns are nothing more then just a child's game to play
But I wonder if they know
That someday, oh yes, someday we won't lay down and take it anymore
Someday we'll impeach each and every last one of 'em

Repeat Bridge

Through its lasted a long while now
The pain they inflict won't always be around us down
Cutting like a knife
Leaving some scars
Some scars that will never heal

I know we can save this land
If only we speak up to say
What's really on our minds
Tell 'em to make love not hate
Peace not war
Don't you think it's time?
We sent them all their seperate ways

Now I vow
One day we'll vote for someone new
Someone who won't screw us over
One by one by one
Tearing us up inside
Blowing our worlds apart just like a terrorist bomb

Repeat bridge
