Everybody Who Thought About It For 5 Seconds Knew

Rating: 5.0

I knew
He knew
After the factory, he worked in
Packed up and left
Lock, stock, and barrel
She knew (his wife)
When he came home and told her
And his kids knew
When they didn't get birthday presents
They understood, we all understood
The banksters and money grubbers
The big multi-nationals Knew
If they cut a sweet deal
With a country
That harvests political prisoner's organs
And puts those who disagree with government policy
Into hard labor
Forcing them to work long hours
Making commodities for the Western market
They'd be lining their pockets
And selling us out
Everyone, who thought 5 seconds about it
Knew giving Communist China our jobs
Was never going to put them
On the road to democracy
Instead, the money has fuelled
Their huge military build-up
Pretty nearly everything we buy
Is made in China
We often have no choice
But to buy their stuff
Because we no longer make it
And in the process, we grow weaker
The middle class is disappearing
And they grow stronger
They're eating our lunch
Because of a greedy few
Who gave it to them.

Unfortunately, few actually invest 5 seconds in thinking.
