Everyone's happy with anything new.
There's excitement perhaps or high expectation.
The new year paves the way to a new start in view,
As calendars declare the past year's termination.

Within hours the year quickly changes number,
We close doors to the past gone minutes ago.
Sweet memories with it,or some pain we remember-
Now locked in our hearts,things only we will know.

There's no stopping the year from going away.
It's journey is set,Time grants no negotiations.
Mistakes of last year write the lessons of today,
Choices we make, chances we take, mark this year's conclusion.
