Everyone Wants Happiness Poem by Kundan Ahuja

Everyone Wants Happiness

Everyone wants happiness,
For they think they deserve it;
As their life is experiencing steadiness,
And sadness is a misfit.

But in objection, to the rich I ask-
What have you done,
Apart from wearing a mask,
And being a friend to none?

You are a creature fake,
For you have wrinkles to the extreme,
But when from a goodnight sleep you awake;
Express your youth with cream.

You are a person stingy,
For you never serve the needy.
You are a person dingy,
And also a person greedy.

Have you ever experienced pain?
The one of a mother, away from her child?
The one who lives in a drain?
I don't think so, for your life is mild.

Everyone wants happiness,
No one wants pain.
But you can't make a rainbow,
Without little rain.
