Evil Day Does Not Gives Formal Notice Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Evil Day Does Not Gives Formal Notice

Evil day does not give formal notice,
It creeps in silently, without a trace,
It arrives uninvited, with no remorse,
Leaving nothing but sorrow in its space.

It takes away the warmth of the sun,
And replaces it with a chilling gloom,
It shatters hearts and makes lives undone,
Leaving behind a somber and bleak room.

No warning, no signs, no chance to prepare,
For the pain and suffering it will bring,
It shows no mercy, it does not care,
As it strikes with a deadly sting.

It snatches away our loved ones dear,
Leaving us with only memories to hold,
Leaves us drowning in a sea of tears,
As we watch our hearts turn cold.

But though it may seem like all is lost,
And darkness has taken over the day,
We must remember, no matter the cost,
That light will always find its way.

For even in the midst of this evil day,
There's still a glimmer of hope and love,
And though we may grieve in our own way,
We know our angels watch from above.

So let us mourn, let us weep,
For the loss that we can't comprehend,
But let us also hold on to the belief,
That in the end, love will always transcend,
For evil day may not give formal notice.

But it cannot overpower the light,
So let us honor those we've lost with solace,
And know that they still shine bright.
