Evil-inspiring self,
angry with all—
the Sky, the Ground,
shouting at birds,
screaming at bees,
chastising the rooster's cry
as it breaks the night
for the call to Tahajjud.
Morning birds leave their nests,
their melodies sweet,
resonating the world
with celestial notes,
songs erupting from Heaven—
a music too loud
for the heart's sacred hall: Hu.
He kicks at the Book of Wisdom,
its verses too radiant,
its truths too sharp.
He prefers the clamor of streets,
mocks any call to stillness,
snarling,
'You're just a clown.'
His rage stamps the earth,
a tempest of noise and disdain.
Then, the authentic self awakens,
silencing him:
'Take your deceit,
your feeble designs,
and leave.
You cannot outwit divine wisdom.
Go—pack your tricks,
and vanish! '
By grace,
the evil-commanding self
is buried,
never to rise again.
The soul returns to Islam,
to the pure fitrah,
woven into its being at eternity's dawn.
Now, Heaven hums
a melodious harmony.
The old Kafir, reborn,
leaves behind the illusions,
steps into light,
a soul restored.
These days,
Heaven sings—
a joyful, eternal affair.
