Except For You Poem by Dani Miller

Except For You

Knowing that all I can do is sit here,
And feel the pain cutting like a knife.
The sharp blade breaking my skin,
And sucking out all the life.

I close my eyes and you enter my mind,
Consuming my thoughts with your voice.
I can choose to open my eyes, to leave you.
Or to listen to your laugh, its my choice.

You say your love is exstinct,
But has it really died?
Can it be that you dont care?
Or did you just lie?

Every single acidic tear that falls,
Is drowning me with so much sorrow.
I'm used to seeing through blurred eyes,
And used to feeling so hollow.

I dont like seeing that thing at your side,
But I cannot change what you feel.
It hurts so bad just to breath,
I can barely even heal.

I'm screaming for you to rescue me,
Yet you are no where in sight.
My voice is getting hoarse,
As I cry myself to sleep at night.

Curled in a ball, burried under the covers.
I wonder if anyone is like me.
Does anyone else experience this pain?
Through blurred eyes does anyone see?

The crisp sunlight screams through my window,
As if saying *Get up its time for a wonderful day! *
I pull the covers farther over my head,
I want everything and everyone to go away.
