Excuses(Smell) - Poem by Gianni Gibbs

i climb on top of a tree
wondering how hard it can be
i think to myself its very tall
and if i slip it would be a scary fall
and if that happens i have failed
or maybe it was simply the smell

i run for 60 minutes
trying to push myself to the limit
i think to myself i should stop
i might pass out because its hot
and if that happens i have failed
or maybe it was simply the smell

i swim for over an hour
not wanting to be called a coward
i think to myself i should slow down
and if i keep swimming i'd get tired and drown
and if that happens i have failed
or maybe it was simply the smell
