Exhausted Poem by Randy McClave

Exhausted

Rating: 5.0

I am strong
But, I am also tired,
I just want to be retired.
Years, I've worked
And I have also slaved,
My soul it's been depraved.
I was exhausted
Inside a mill,
Now, I just want to sit still.
After thirty plus years
I have given my best,
Now with scars and burns I can finally rest.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

After giving so many years of life to work, one feels detached from worldly things and pass remaining years in peace, in ones own way. That feeling of loneliness is evident in the lines. Very nice.

The sentiments of workers having put in a lengthy innings of toil have been articulated along with a desire to retire after being exhausted due to it.
