In the shadows I lay
Curtains drawn in dust
The Lifelines beginning to fray
Into the jowls of incessant dusk
No saviours at the post
Not cost effective I suppose
Myself to console me at most
Inwardly withdrawing I propose
For inside myself is how I'll locate myself
If there is anything left to find
Paling into the ghosts
Becoming lost from mankind
Deemed unworthy due to the torment,
That many seem to suffer.
I suppose some masks are better than others
I call to my brothers
My kin where are they?
Or am I now judged inhuman?
Is this how demons are conjured?
In an unsolicited exile
