Expect To Digest It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Expect To Digest It

It is almost guaranteed.
Those who choose not to listen.
Or use common sense.
Perceiving themselves to know better,
Than anyone else.
Regardless who has survived ignorance,
To have experienced it to learn.
This...
Is inevitable.
For people like that to expect.

A humbling feeling of overwhelming stupidity.
Alone and somewhere to admit.
A need to find a place to hide,
The embarrassment of their misjudgement(s) .
And the ability again,
To hold their head up and look into the eyes...
Of the ones they have victimized.
By lieing, deceiving and stabbing,
Folks in the back.
Then pretending what they have done,
Was not meant to do on purpose.

Who...
In their 'right' mind,
Will accept to believe that B.S.
To expect it digested.

Even a child learning how to walk,
From a crawl to stand.
Will not repeatedly self inflict pain,
Without it to notice...
What they do to themselves,
Is stupid.
There is nothing that can be blamed,
On using intelligence about it.
Especially to believe,
Someone else will pay the price...
For something done to do,
Just for the attention of it to get!

What mind is allowed to become that sick? !
And still keep faith and trust,
They will someday awakened...
To feel guilt and remorse to comprehend,
A doing meant to do is 'intentional'.
Not a mistake to easily forgive and forget.
