Extra Loyalty Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Extra Loyalty

by Freeyad Ibrahim

Napoleon, the Corsican,
Fought for French
So valiantly
That no Native French citizen ever did.

Why?

Willington, the Irish,
Fought for England
So fiercely
That no Native English citizen ever did.

Why?

Hitler, the Austrian,
Fought for Germany
So sincerely,
That no Native German citizen ever did.

Why?

That is Because
When a native citizen fights
For his own country,
He fights to defend it
Protect it from the enemy
Save it
Because he is already a Native Citizen.

This extra Diligence and Loyalty
from the side of the non-native citizen,
maybe called a Compensation
for the Inferiority Complex
Resulting from the fact
That he is not an indigenous native citizen.

You may name it:
A Filling- EXTRA!
