Everytime you are near
I feel as if your eyes glance through me
Seeing beneath my surface
Every whisper, cry, and heartache
Shows through crystal clear
I feel peaceful yet cold
Because I am afraid
Not only will you see the light in my heart
But the shadow in my soul
As if I were a broken lamp that couldn't be sold
You see the glitters and the dust
That float through my cluttered mind
The wonderful embrace of love and joy
But the piercing pain of distrust
I love you and I sometimes hate you
You understand me
But you understand me all too well
The hurt I've felt before
You make me remember here and there
But the hurt goes away
Because you showed me that you are true
Those eyes are dark and light
Ocean and sky
Fire and water
Those eyes see right through me
And when they do
My mind and soul take flight
