think only of things
just focus on the concrete
he killed abstraction
I love the title.....! Initially I was wondering how the murder happened, but the three short lines explain the nature of the murder! The imagist poets could never approve of the concrete style used by the ancient masters.......! The economy of words used adds to the sharpness of the contrast between Pound and Plato
just from the title the image alone is enough to come up with any scene the twisted mind can think. And I love the idea of these two sitting together, entering a dialogue like a chess match at a gun fight debating for all eternity! .
Fantastic Senryu MJ! Its this conciseness that heightens the sharpness of the detail, and an interesting insightful read, I've tried reading Pound, but I've found his style to elusive and apathetic (though I love T.S. Elliot) , also his political leanings are a lot to be desired.
Kevin, thank you so much. You are right about Pound's style. I think he did attempt to re-revolutionize poetry by going back to writing about things (imagism) . People were not part of the experience....that may even account for some of his political beliefs. Thanks so much.
your vision is as wide as is Canad but you have yet to find time for two of my poems moms smiles and mothers day today do so kindly soonly lemon sir
Hey Poet...thanks...I'll be reading in a few days...I have been on your page enjoying (and commenting on) some of your work over the past week or so...
Thank you MJ for a brilliant conversation between the concrete and the abstract. There is a fine line between the concrete and abstract. Perhaps, if we can see through that line, may be a shinning image is possible. :) A lovely Senryu that sets you thinking.10+++
Geeta, thank you so much! And how many people can't cross that imperceptible line? Too, too many, I fear....

Interesting..your mind travel so far! Somehow it could be similar sharing thoughts between Picasso with Monet...hahaha Hmmm... let me imagine that Plato going to say; abstraction is derived from concrete, inspiration delivered by existence..LOL
