Facade of earthly beauty—
comes and goes,
in the wind that blows.
A spirit of smoke—
flickers and fades,
filed away in memory's dust.
Fleeting beams of the false sun—
broken rays that cannot last.
Ephemeral wonder worn by age—
a yawn on the mouth of life.
Naive worldly wisdom wanes—
wrinkled clouds of dust.
Ashes of the sun fall—
withered blossoms undone.
Pheasant feathers, once golden bright,
fade to gray in the dimming light,
ravished by time's blight—
blackening into night.
The chinar tree's rough bark—
hides beauty within.
Divine grace breathes strength—
into the tree of life.
Perfection veiled, charm unseen,
marks of true beauty reemerge.
The tree of life stands—
rooted in eternity.
