Faces



Brooding, grinning faces, stare from hidden places,
Lightning flashes of what?
Impatience, hatred, jealousy?
Smiling, laughing faces,
Warm words, warm embraces,
Glinting flashes of what?
Enjoyment, liking, wanting?
Faces; sad, angry, childlike,
Faces; happy, pleased, euphoric.
Faces, faces,
Varied, all around us.
Watching, waiting, expecting,
Anticipating faces.
