Fact Of Our Existence Poem by Francis Duggan

Fact Of Our Existence

It does not matter how wealthy and famous you are
Or of the size of your home or of the size of your car
On some future night or on some future day
The Reaper of lives will come reaping your way
The one who claims all lives of the dreaded name
Is not one who does respect those of money and fame
And treats their lives as equal to the poor of the town
Who live and will die as strangers to renown
With the one who claims all lives sooner or late
The wealthy and famous too does have a date
The life's journey for all of us comes to an end
This is one thing for certain on which we can depend
The fact is we are born to life to eventually die
A fact of our existence and fact never lie.
