Fading - Poem by Jennifer Keith

Knowing deadly facts. Overlooking measures.

Seeking only pleasures.

Inhale. So calming

I’ll be fine.

Ridding beauty for more. Others have passed.

Others could last.

Empty. So promising.

I’ll be fine.

Detest others self damage. They slip bit by bit.

Now a hypocrite.

Carve. So pleasing.

I’ll be fine.

Needing help to cope. Giving joy and breaks.

Bringing smiles and aches.

Friends. So contenting

… I’ll be just fine…
