Fading Roses Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Fading Roses

Images captured on film
Saved and frozen in time
Face and frame…
Subject to change

Make of it what you will
The many phases pass
Under the light of the moon
A final pose is stilled in June

Scrutinized under a microscope
Exposed for all to see
Shadowed by troubled empathy
As tears sting with sympathy

Farewell…to images of vibrancy
Reminders of potency
The shutter opens and closes
Capturing an array of fading roses
