Faith Poem by I M Swan

Faith

Rating: 5.0

Dark rain falls on dead of night
Emotions locked in bitter fight
Fists of rage reach for the sky
Silent tears fall from my eyes

All hope is lost when love gives up
Drink the wine from sorrows cup
Roses red as dark as blood
Fall from my hands into the mud

Fate, like a knife twists in my heart
To claim its prize and rip it apart
I gasp for breath, my soul on fire
Once more cheated from my one desire

Dawn kisses night in one quick glance
I look to God for one last chance
I beg for mercy on bended knees
'Just give me strength, I ask you please'

'Break the chains, remove the spell
Release me from my living hell
Eternal love is all I need'
With broken heart I curse and plead

Lightning splits the morning sky
Angels come to testify
Words are whispered in his name
'Lift your head and feel no shame'

'Keep the faith for love will shine
For you are still a child of mine
When times are bad just know I'm here
Just cast aside your pain and fear'

'To give such love was not in vain
For in my eyes you've much to gain
Look to the sun, it's not too late
I give you me, your true soul mate'
