Faking Poem by Dorsey Baker

Faking

if you don't want me
to be an open
book
then don't try to
read me
if you don't
want me to starve to death
then you feed me
if you don't want me
to breathe upon you
then don't
let me breathe
and if you don't want
nothing to grow
then don't
plant it's seed
what you don't want
what you cannot take
then you must be real
never fake
