Falls Ochre Tones Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Falls Ochre Tones

Rating: 5.0

Feeling so alive in it's ochre tones...
These Earthen tints mesmerize my eyes
Sienna and umber flashes garner my stares
What wonderous hues 'neath the November skies! ;

Embellished lavishly by the crisp leaves
That blow seemlessly through the chilly air
While gourds of different shapes and sizes dazzle
Reminding us of Thanksgiving's delicious dinner fare! :

Feeling so alive in it's ochre tones...
While building a bonfire - to warm our feet and hands
The leaves crackle & spark - so perfectly- -
Exhilerating are moments spent upon this glorious Earthen land! ;

Embellishments will come and they will go...
As Father Winter 'tis indeed, nigh- -
These colours will disappear with the first frost or snow...
While the firmaments hues change to murky grey skies! :
