Far Away From Home Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Far Away From Home

I am beyond the Blue Mountains,
However, silence is not always golden;
Finding my way to make a living.

Freedom they say is mine,
But the day you were born i do not know;
And, i have learnt enough through hustle and bustle in life.

Dreams of my homeland! !
With the buzzing noise from nearby villages;
Like the footstpes from various farms.

You are a stranger in my eyes! ! !
And, i am a stranger in your eyes as well;
But, the struggles of life had really taken me far away from home.
