Father To Son Poem by Lalay Allan

Father To Son

Rating: 5.0

My son,
What thoughts race through
My mind when I see you?
What do I feel when I see you?
Your pensive eyes, your thick brows,
Your cute smile, your tiny fingers
Why, they look so familiar.
Is it vanity?
If I see myself in you
To think that you came to be
Partly because of me
That in you, I will live
Even long after I shall have left
This world of mortals

This is a subtle language and some fine reflection on fatherhood.
