Fathoms Below The Surface Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Fathoms Below The Surface

She said her name was Medusa, a mermaid true,
who lived with her clan in currents offshore.

'We sing and swim among azure sea-flowers,
Wearing necklaces of seaweed and coral-
Long lazy sea-green days blossom into blue
Nights and languid blue petals of love.'

That's all she sang to me-
I swear by almighty Poseidon!
