Favorable Is The Image Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Favorable Is The Image

An image presented,
For centuries to imitate...
A significance kept celebrated.
With enforcement to endorse.
Is losing meaning.

More are seeking within themselves.
What it is about this image,
That has to inflict,
Division and conflict.
If it is 'significant'.

And why are those,
Enforcing its endorsement.
For the purpose to gain recognition.
And what is it about this recognition,
That seems to feed upon insecurities.

If this image is as significant,
To uphold and keep valued.
Why are those using tactics to destroy,
What it is they claim,
Has nothing to do with race.
Or faith of one's religious belief.

Could it be,
This image is based upon material things.
How these 'things' are obtained.
And who it is depicted to qualify,
To represent this...'image'.
That the inhabitants of the 'World',
Should identify and envy,
As chosen to be God's favorite.

Although...
Few today can admit to confess,
Their quality of life left...
Has been bestowed upon them,
By an image they will regard as favorable!
