Favorite Person Poem by Ana Monnar

Favorite Person

Rating: 5.0

If I could choose only one favorite person
throughout my lifetime – my second husband
would certainly win the prize
His love, care and kindness
From here to eternity will be super size
Whether I felt grumpy, happy or sad
He would still love me – mad or glad
Trust and care cultivated just like a garden that was cared for
Decades of sailing across the seas
At times turbulent,
Other times smooth like a plateau
Touching the ground with foreheads in a kowtow
Stability and variation – just some of the spices
We buried our fears with all the devices
Knowing we had each other to lean on
Until the present worry would be foregone
Love endured through patience, care and
kindness through thick and thin snow
Even days of the months that I was
unbearable and moody
He loved me so, whether I was
insupportable, intolerable or goody
