Fear Poem by Cece Winters

Fear

As a child you had been warned of all the dangers
Yet, as a child you don't understand and live carefree.

Fear is our strongest emotion.
Not the emotion of love.

Fear is our best motivator.
They say to be fearless - easier said than done.

To really make your life worthy of living you must embrace fear.
Fear must consume you, and overpower you.

Fear needs to take you to the edge of the cliff.
Where it almost shatters you, getting to the other side.

No matter how much fear is telling you to stop,
You must get to the top

And simply jump over.
As you get closer to jumping over you begin to see it.

That something beautiful and real is waiting at the finishing line
Waiting for you to jump over.

To become whole again.
