Feather Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Feather

Feather

Last night I
-was honoured
-to be guest

I observed a feather
-of eagle, as scared…
-be gifted
-by great landowners
- (Anishinaabe)
-to new residents
- (Osgood's law Students)

Last night I
-felt to be genuine
-accepted resident,
-by the kind landowners

Now feel in Kanata
- (Village or villages)

Now honoured
-am proud and aware
-of true where about

Thank you, my landlords,
-to serve you, I am yours

Till I die and get lost
-as simple particle
-in the air
-in the dust

Let my soul mingle with
-elderly, pioneers
-who lead us
-with customs
-with wisdom
-of great
-greatest
-mom and dad
