Feeding The Earth Poem by Sven Rhoads

Feeding The Earth

My blood has fallen upon the ground of my fathers
Who gave their lives to keep the purity flowing
The winds still sing of all the battles they've fought
So that their names may never be forgotten
They kept the future bright for the better
With their valor forevermore glowing
All the knowledge that they have been taught
Will be passed down as a descendant's token

All these years we've been feeding the earth
To keep the flourishing of this land
For blood, drink and our honor to share
Soak down in deep to the roots

Every spring we raise our horns to the new dragons that are born
Every winter we thank the stars for the ones who are no longer among their kin

So when my time will come to claim my last breath
May you know I have lived with no regrets
Through all trials and tribulations
It has made me the man that stands before you
So do not cry at the hour of my death
For these words I hope you soon not forget
Every victory deserves a celebration
So the stars can continue to smile upon you

Every night you look up I will be waiting our return
When the pyre is burning high we'll all go where we yearn
