Feeling At Home Poem by David Harris

Feeling At Home

Rating: 5.0

There are times when we take journeys
and are hesitant at what we might find.
In the back of our mind,
we fear rejection of any kind.
We step down from the plane
nervous of our surroundings
not sure what awaits us here.
We are about to leave the terminal
when from across the room
we see a face we recognise
and like an old time movie
we run and hug one another
and instantly we feel at home.

You've captured it so competently. I think rejection was the perfect word. I just wish someday I could become as excited by the idea of travel as the rest of my family..(smile)
