Fences Poem by David Harris

Fences

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes
we build fences
to keep things out,
other times
we build fences
to keep things we treasure in.

Interesting idea. Reminds me of a time when our family shared (tenants in common) with another some 20 odd years ago. There was a partition between the two households, despite the fact that we shared a party wall. We decided to leave it there - because it would be easy to break it down, but much more difficult to erect it, should circumstances so prevail. We were able to knock it down about six months later. Your never cease to amaze with the range of your poetic ideas. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Interesting write David. I had a neighbor once who objected to a rather high fence being built by his other neighbor with this wry statement: 'Good fences make good neighbors, but that is going to be one very ugly fence'.
