Happiness is the quiet hum
of a heart at ease,
A lightness that needs no reason,
no grand gesture to exist.
It is The way sunlight rests
on a cheek, warm and unassuming,
or how laughter spills,
unexpected and whole.
Happiness is not a thing to chase,
but a presence to notice-
The taste of ripe fruit,
the sound of rain on a roof,
the nearness of someone who understands.
It lives in small corners,
in fleeting moments
that linger longer than they should,
expanding into something vast
and unnameable.
To be happy is to know,
that enough is already here,
and always has been.
