Festive Eve Poem by Vaibhav Simha

Festive Eve

Rating: 3.0

In a room, out of everyone's sight
Looking outside the window, the dazzling fireworks night!
People celebrating the blissful New Year's eve
With all the past year's glee taking an eternal leave.

And once, I sat down the tree, with birds on top,
Watching the people presenting gifts
Besides the gracious Christmas tree that's lit!
And kids wearing sweaters that their grandma has knit.

When I was walking alongside the coast,
I saw a kid dressed up as a scary looking ghost.
Then I realised, it was Halloween and he needed a treat;
Eating chocolates and having a family feast!

With others celebrating, why should I be left?
Watching others celebrating the fest.
With God's birthday and Lord's love
I will celebrate with the ever loved vow!

Simple and nice....! Spontaneous expression of the natural feelings of a young boy watching the festivities associated with Christmas, Halloween and New Year's Eve. Seclusion is oppressive sometimes and we prefer to be with the group in a mood of celebration!
