Fidel Alejandro Castro Cruz: A Hero Or A Villain? Poem by Hebert Logerie

Fidel Alejandro Castro Cruz: A Hero Or A Villain?

Fidel Alejandro Castro Cruz, the Commander,
El Comandante, el jefe, was one of a kind
Of a leader with a great wit and a superb mind.
For some crazy foes, he was a criminal, a killer.
Some complained that he had tortured and murdered
His opponents, who had threatened the revolution.
Au verso, his loyal fans thought that he was a man of action,
Who had sent soldiers to fight against the evil apartheid
Regime of South Africa and Angola. The Superpowers
Were upset with Castro for fighting against racism, bigotry,
Ignorance and exploitation by the ruthless oppressors.
In Cuba, he had helped the poorest of the poor of his country,
Fought hard against illiteracy, inefficiency, and corruption.
Fidel is respected throughout the world, while being condemned
By dissidents, who had been living outside of the Cuban nation.
Cuba has medical facilities that can rival many in the
free world.
For such a small country, Fidel has endured an embargo of more than
Half-century. The Cuban People have been resilient facing wind-whirled
Cyclones, which had ravaged and destroyed countless houses and the crops
Of this independent island, which is floating in the Caribbean Sea.
Numerous books and articles have been written about this legendary
Leader. If you want to know more about Cuba, check the world maps.
This is simply a brief synopsis about Fidel Castro: A Hero or a Villain?
Please Google Cuba, an island which flirts with pride and pain.
