Fields Of Ice Poem by John McCornack

Fields Of Ice

In the quiet countryside near Yukon
Families wait with great anticipation
As homes slowly cool without power
Cold moves to the entire population

Slowly the inside temperatures drop
As people become chilled to the bone
Seems all that can be done is to wait
As everyone knows they are not alone
