Fighting Evil Poem by Paul Warren

Fighting Evil

Evil looked to stare me down
Wanting me to come around
For wrong should be understood
Looking to bring me down if it could

The red eyes were seen on blackened skies
Wanting it to be its only disguise
As it whispered such evil thoughts
Pulling at me as it ought

I saw what it meant for me
Thrown in hell so easily
But it couldn't do the deed
Sitting back looking for an evil breed

As it came through the veil
Slowly now so it could prevail
Original sin is as it was sought
For all its posturing came to nought

For the struggle still is the thing
To fight it now and a righteous sing
For good to triumph over evil spread
To search to find where evil is bred

Stand up now and heed the call
Rally against evil not enthralled
To fight the fight is recognised
Against an evil foe now recognised.
