Fill Me With Empty Poem by Ellen Shaw

Fill Me With Empty

Rating: 5.0

Fill me with Empty
A dark room
Curtains closed
Outside noise
A car going over a bump
Outside is full of life
And Living
Fill me with Silence
Alone at home
With noises
The hum of the boiler
Footsteps in the flat above
Far away enough to fill me
With Silence
Fill me with Hopelessness
Eating away inside
Contamination twisting
Rotting
Taking me over
Cut away those I am sure I love
Let go
Fill me with Nothing
Nothing that hurts
Nothing can destroy me
Nothing changes me
Until I do not know myself
Oh! Fill me with Nothing
A long empty sleep
Silence my mind, my brain, my heart
Silence me
Let me get lost and disappear
Let me become nothing
So that nothing hurts me
I have lost all hope.

I like the title, it's unique. A thoughtful penning, sad but brutally honest. " Oh! Fill me with Nothing/A long empty sleep/Silence my mind, my brain, my heart/Silence me.....I can sooooo relate. Once can wish. Great penning. Loved it. tfs
