Finally done

Final day has arrived
the rapists have been hanged
the justice is delivered
the country has heaved a sigh of relief
seven long years wait
their fate was hung in balance
they availed every possible chance
but ended at once
I must appreciate strong judiciary
and steps taken necessary
the lawyer adopted available remedy
but the pressure was held by the judiciary
is the death deterrent?
in the present day context
it is real question
and must be made mention
the means should be restricted
to go in for appeal when rapists have inflicted
and cause the death of woman
surpassing all the limits of decency as human beings
Hasmukh Mehta
the rape and mutilation of Nirbhaya was so brutal and repulsive that the entire nation felt that if in any case the criminal deserved to be punished with death, then this was the case. Sad that precious lives have to be extinguished thus. People should accept their hanging with equanimity and introspection but not celebrate the event. GSP Rao, Hyderabad, Mar 20,2020
A timely post on an issue that has been testing the patience of the nation. Though many do not like the idea of a capital punishment, GSP Rao, Hyderabad, Mar 20,2020
the means should be restricted to go in for appeal when rapists have inflicted and cause the death of woman surpassing all the limits of decency as human beings Hasmukh Mehta

I would like to translate this poem
It took over 7 years to obtain justice in a case where the criminals were not high profile. Has things changed big time in this country because of this execution? What if the accused were children of top businessmen, Government servants, MPs, MLAs- or MLAs themselves? Would justice be delivered swiftly or rather would justice be delivered at all?
