This disease does not discriminate,
And there's so much pain it will create.
All we can do is stand by their side,
Even through all the tears that are cried.
What we need are love and hope,
To always help us be able to cope.
It's a tough battle that can be won,
And we will prevail in the long run.
I wish that I could have an answer,
As to why someone would get cancer.
All we can do is hope and pray,
That it will somehow go away.
There are so many people unsure,
As to why we can't find a cure.
Too many innocent lives are taken,
By this disease that's God forsaken.

Jon is very good with difficult subjects…a very good poet who makes complex difficult things have a simple poetic explanation. EXCELLENT
