very good poem sir... befriend death, in doing so one learns to live!
Most people want to go to heaven, but some have that fear of dying to get there. The way the Bible describes heaven, it’s really a much better place than this earth. I choose not to die, but for the Lord Jesus to come back and I’m caught up in the air; as it states in 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.” Phyllis

I think if you live as well as you know how, you can go through that other door with only excitement and curiosity.
