Fired Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fired

Fired

He who was rising sun
-the motion and smile in sky
-was now lamb heading for
-sharp knife of abattoir

He had been warned at job
-of being…

Need, fear and truth
-made furnace in his eyes
-with the waves in motion
-like face of their river,
-Kandahar's

His roots, birth of Khoshab
-to mean "the good water"
-at edge of the plain to desert
-sand and sand, nothing else

Grannies migrated
-Kandahar's settlement
-then Kabul
-and other stories

Still wears his beard
-and sees it religious

He works hard as engine
-filling air with steam
-sending some to neighbours

But last night…
-a passive and feared
-a needy displaced
-came through his smiles
-with words of complaint

"Everyone wants my land…"
-he said and I tried
-to comfort and reveal
-the facts he does not know

"The name and country…"
-I lectured and went deep
-was made for sacrifice
-by Brits and Russia
-you are like the liver
-of the cow…"

Piece here, piece of there
-friends and betrayers
-neutral zone came along
-then a name was made up
-Afghanistan

"Russia wants and…also…"
-he mentioned the names of
-Pakistan and Iran
- "…USA from far…"

Then swore with anger
-in his eyes saw fire
- "They fly over some continents
-their mission is killing my people…"

Inside me hurricane
-Hailey is nothing if
-my feeling is compared…

He works, runs family
-to parents sends money
-too busy and busy and busy
-had lost his control
-wrong timing, bad approach

Then warning of being
-put aside and fired…

Facts surfaced and his needs
- "You were born a slave!
-either leave or accept

His bowing is not will! ! !
