First Kiss Poem by Bryan Taplits

First Kiss

A wish is all I had that day
A fragrant hope, no more,
And then it was you who kissed me-
I bounced right off the floor.
And so was such that striking day
How both we rushed our play
That neither knew-but thought we did-
As each,
we tried to get our way.
Ah, yes,
So many years have passed
Where truth and passing lie
But this I know-
And I still think it so-
That day recounted I lived fully-
Before I ever shall die!
