First Love Poem by Edwina Reizer

First Love

Come slowly unto me.
Approach me with great care.
The tales that have been told me of young men
have helped me to prepare.
I have groomed and I have powdered
and I've perfumed too.
I've prepared myself for you.

Come slowly unto me
and tenderly take my hand.
Let me see that come hither stare
and I'll let you take command.
You will lead and I will follow
and you shall teach me love.
My heart will flutter and you, my Apollo
will take me on your knee
and come slowly unto me.
