First Night Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

First Night

Rating: 5.0

I knew nothing about love
But strongly believed
In its origin
With feelings

I was young then
About sixteen
When saw her in prime
That was the only crime I did

But I felt so much power
The attraction from rainy shower
No fear from bursting clouds
I wanted to shout loud

What was the main cause?
She had only paused
From beautiful smile
To lower the eyes meanwhile

Yes, this could be the girl
That may slightly turn
My destiny
As decided by an almighty

I lost no time
Gave nod for any time
She was to wed in ceremonial way
The tradition style of taking girl away

First night and all that I remembered
She was part and permanent member
I hesitated first time to disclose
But was there any option than to repose?
