Over there in the trenches stands a medic and a nurse
They have seen the bad and the worse,
They have been kicked, punched and also cursed
While help and comfort they have faithfully dispersed,
They are the true answer to a prayer
Whenever they are needed, they are there.
Over there stands a brave firefighter
For our safety and and salvation he'll pull an all-nighter,
He fiercely battles the evil of fire
Knowing the flames of destruction and death is it's desire,
And whenever a fireman is called upon and/ or needed
He is always there, unheeded.
Whenever time is at the crucial must
And our safety and health to others we must entrust,
Whenever there is sickness, suffering and/ or blight
These heroes are always the first ones at the site,
God has gave and created us many great wonders
But, I thank God for the first responders.
