First T.V. Commercial Poem by Ima Ryma

First T.V. Commercial

Rating: 5.0

The Bulova watch company
In July,1941
Did the very first on T.V.
A 'buy me' commercial was done.
The 48 state U.S. map
Splashed with a Bulova watch face,
The voice of an announcer chap
Said the slogan to make the case,
Pitching 'America runs on'
'Bulova' to the audience,
Beginning the phenomenon
Viewers have had to endure since.

Cost Bulova four dollars to
Air the ad, seen by but a few.
