First Week Of May Poem by Randy McClave

First Week Of May

9 more days away
On the first week of May,
My mind and thoughts are now swaying
As I begin to hear bagpipes playing.
I will then be on my flight
Which will bring my soul delight,
Then 7 hours later we will land
Then once again I will be in Scotland.
Poetry and adventure my soul yearns
I'll be in the home of the bard Robert Burns,
Then I will excited recite
A poem that I did write.
I will then head off to Arthur's Seat
I will walk it unto I reach its peak,
And then when I am looking down
I will then head off to Old Town.
Then I will look for a beautiful ginger
To which I'd invite for dinner,
Then I'll sit and listen to her haunting accent
Which will be magnificent.
Seafood from the Scottish waters will be our meal
Lobster and shrimp we will peel,
Then when I look into her eyes
And only then I will see Scotland's greatest prize.
Then when my trip comes to an end
I will then say goodnight to a dear friend,
Then I will proudly and happily fly home
Then I'll write her a poem.
