Five Little Words Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Five Little Words

Everyday...everywhere
argument brings despair
and that look upon her face
is more than he can bear.

'Hurry home' is his request,
putting her love-light to the test
But no... she takes her time
and dawdles with the rest.

Everyday...everywhere
she refuses to be kissed, whilst
five little words pester her head
'A single life is best'
