Fj R 's New Years Wish... Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

Fj R 's New Years Wish...

Each year Tradition takes our arm, and we follow
Despite the many troubled Mind's left to wallow
We wish for each other good tidings, great cheer
Prosper and happiness...for the coming New Year

I relax and watch the news...then recall Vietnam
Or my Fathers World War tales born in Guam
How Christmas tradition was a mutual Truce
That was broken before they had coffee or juice

If the principals only had taken this time
To reflect on the carnage, those who had died
All in the name of skewed elements
For if they had done this, how could War make sense

Yet, in lieu of Peace 'n Prosper we bleed
Black-blood from fields of oil and greed
And, in the process, one would hope we'd finally get
The picture that War, is like a bad gamblers bet

This Christmas, this New Year.....what I'd like to see
Is a bit of chemeria turn away from fantasy
Into a real-life paraxysm of a world on the same
Book and same pages, breaking bread and sharing blame.

So simple to place in words, yet still I wish
That when I logon to a site with people from every niche
Of the world that is ours to protect for our young
That we all seek common ground, regardless of native tongue

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and to all my very best
To every God-Woven soul....that may be given lifes test
In resolving hard issues without taking blood or flesh
For in the end, we're all the same thru' Birth and Death

A VERY HEALTHY, JOYOUS, PEACEFUL, SUCCESSFUL
& CREATIVE NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE!
